West Bloomfield battled Birmingham in a competitive matchup that ended 3–1, but the Lakers showed strong effort, discipline, and flashes of high‑level play throughout the game. The first half was even, ending in a draw, with WB defending well and matching Birmingham’s tempo. The third quarter shifted the momentum as Birmingham capitalized twice, taking a 2–0 lead. In the fourth quarter, Lakers answered with quality execution. Becca finished a clean short‑corner goal assisted by Sydney, who delivered a sharp, well‑timed pass. Their connection was one of the brightest moments of the game. Eva and Sydney, both seniors, put in nonstop effort from start to finish pressing, recovering, and pushing the team forward. Their leadership showed, but both will need to continue working on short, controlled possession to stretch the field and dictate tempo in future games. The goalkeeper performed exceptionally well, keeping Lakers alive with multiple key saves. Evelyn, as usual, pierced through Birmingham’s defense with speed and determination, creating chances and driving the attack. Overall, the Lakers played well and controlled long stretches, but missed opportunities in the final minutes proved costly. Birmingham scored their third goal late, sealing the match. A strong effort. A competitive game. Lessons learned, and growth continues. Coach Z
