On Thursday, West Bloomfield hosted the Team District finals. It was a four-team bracket including Bloomfield Hills, North Farmington, and Farmington. Appropriately, both first round dual meets were against cross-town rivals. The Lakers and Blackhawks fiercely battled it out and kept things close: both teams won 4 of the first 8 matches. But then the Lakers went on a streak and took 5 wins in a row, building a lead that eventually became insurmountable. West Bloomfield took the first round 48-24. In the District Finals, the Lakers dominated North Farmington in a 76-5 rout. Congratulations Lakers! This marks the 4th year in a row that the Laker wrestlers have won the District Championship and the 3rd year in a row of winning both Leagues and Districts.
